What we keep about you, and about your dog.

How Heelwork Dog Training handles what you tell us about yourself and your dog, the videos you send, and the case files we publish only with your consent.

Sample text for the Heelwork template, written for Heelwork Dog Training, an invented business in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Have it reviewed by a lawyer before you publish, and check it against your own service agreement, booking, payment and video tools; nothing here is legal advice.

1. Who we are

Heelwork Dog Training LLC (demo company) runs dog training and behavior consulting in clients’ homes around Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, plus small group classes, and this website. In this policy, “we” means Heelwork Dog Training.

We work from home and visit yours, so we don’t publish a street address. You can reach us at (612) 555-0148 or hello@heelwork.example.

2. What this policy covers

This website, the dog history form, the messages and videos you send us, the notes we keep during a program, and the case files and Progress Logs we publish.

Booking, payments and video storage run on outside services, which have their own privacy terms as well as ours.

3. What you tell us about you

Your name, phone number and email so we can reply, and your home address so we can come to you. If it matters for safety, who lives in the house, such as children’s ages or another dog.

We use it to run your sessions and classes and to answer you. We don’t add you to a mailing list because you asked a question.

4. What you tell us about your dog

The dog history form asks for your dog’s name, age, breed, sex, health and medications, your vet clinic, daily routine, triggers, and any growl, snap or bite in their history.

We need it to plan training safely. We keep it with your session notes, scores and homework, which together make your dog’s log, and only the people working with your dog see it.

5. Session videos and photos

Between sessions you send short videos so we can see the homework. We may also film part of a session so you can watch it back. They’re stored in a private folder shared with you, and used only to coach your dog.

We delete them 12 months after your program ends, unless you’ve agreed in writing that we can keep or publish a clip.

6. Publishing a case or a Progress Log

The case files and logs on this site are published only with the owner’s written consent. We show your first name and your dog’s name, never your surname, address or anything that would let someone find your home.

You can withdraw consent at any time. We take the case, log, photos and videos down from this site within 14 days. We can’t recall copies other people have already saved or shared.

7. Who else sees it

We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.

It’s seen by the trainer and class assistant working with your dog, the website host (Framer), the booking, payment, email and video-storage services we use, and, with your permission, your vet or a veterinary behaviorist. If a dog seriously injures someone during a session or class, we may have to share details with animal control, an insurer or the authorities when the law requires it.

8. Payments

Card details go straight to the payment processor that runs our checkout. We never see or store your card number; we see your name, the amount and what you booked.

9. How long we keep it

Dog history forms, session notes and logs: 3 years after your last session, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back. Videos: 12 months after your program ends. Messages: up to 2 years. Payment records: as long as tax law requires.

10. Your rights and changes

You can ask what we hold about you or your dog, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, except records we have to keep. Write to hello@heelwork.example; we answer within 45 days. Depending on where you live, laws such as the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act may give you further rights; we honor these requests from everyone. This site isn’t directed to children under 13.

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of the page. Questions: Heelwork Dog Training, Minneapolis / St. Paul, Minnesota · (612) 555-0148 · hello@heelwork.example.
